September leaves us with the cry of the Rooster ringing through the cooling air. How was communication for you in September? Did you have an opportunity to shine and flaunt your talents? Journal Prompt for October: How do I avoid conflict in my life? How do I wage peace in my life when war/battle/ challenge is all around me?
You ready for the most contentious month of 2024? The Dragon flies down and enters the arena of the Dog. This is enemies facing off and it could get bloody. This is no fluffy pooch here, this is a mastiff sitting in the domain of the North West pawing at the ground with eyes blazing directly into the South East glare of the sun from which we see the Dragon swoop down. Be prepared for our world, our communities, our lives and the lives of our loved ones to hit a major cluster f*$%k of delays, obstacles, confrontations, escalated debates, interruptions, and all out retaliation. If the Rooster woke us up to speak our truth, then October brings the fall out and/or the rise up. Expect to see millions of people flooding streets in protest, rebellions, civil wars, and also justice. Yes, Justice is going to prevail as well as we see great people fall and heads spinning from the blow of Truth. This is no easy month, my friend, in fact this month asks us to do one of two things. One: if you have a war in your life to wage, be really careful how that is done in the most peaceful, respectful, and non-violent way. Two: If you face any conflict or obstacle of meaning in October, take a mighty step back and re-evaluate the situation before reacting, before jumping to conclusions, and rather opt for the high road, the quiet road, the road of forgiveness and acceptance if possible. Yes, retreat my friends into the Dragon’s lair or the risk being thrown in the Dog House. Careful how you tread forward in the days ahead for much is changing and fast.

Starting in a different direction for October because the Stars in the contentious North West and South East are battling Stars in addition to this battle with the Zodiac Animals of Dragon and Dog. This is hitting directly and with impact.
DEPRESS – The 2 Star is in the South East where the Dragon holds reign for 2024. PLUS this is the home of the GRAND DUKE, one of the 3 Afflictions. 2024 requires we keep this part of our home and property QUIET, NO CONSTRUCTION, LOUD NOISES (video games, loud TV, drumming, etc.). October brings the 5 Star which combined with the 2 Star spells trouble. This is danger, sickness, injury, loss of wealth, and waves a red caution flag. Since these are both Earth Stars sitting in the Woodsy South East, they are beleaguered here as if already beaten down before the battle has begun with the NW. Best Colors: Focus on Metal to weaken these Stars. colors of White, gray, and black. You can also add a pop of Blue to create that mitigating flow of elements. Avoid : Earthy elements of Yellow, Brown, and Terracotta or Rust, green colors, purple, violet, rose, and watermelon, and other Fire colors. CURE: To appease the Grand Duke display a Tai Sui plaque and a pair of Pi Yao beasties facing into 105-135 degrees on the compass. You can also display a Gold Dragon to honor our Dragon Year. If this is an office, put 3 Brass Immortals at your back for support. If this is a main entrance, place a pair of Gold Fu Dogs flanking the front steps/ entranceway for protection. If this is a Kitchen, cover the burners with cookie sheets when not in use. If this is a bedroom, put a Salt Water Cure under the bed and put a Brass Wu Lou Health Gourd on your bedside table. VACATE THIS AS A BEDROOM AND AVOID AS AN ENTRANCE if at all possible. DO NOT FACE South East, Do NOT TRAVEL or point your head when sleeping in the direction of the SE.
DEPRESS – The 4 Star is in the North West is another conflicted area and is the direction of the Dog, so the NW is the other of the 3 Afflictions, the Sui Po which is the enemy of the Dragon. If you are born in the Day or Year of the Dog or Dragon DO NOT have this as you bedroom, office, or main entrance. Do Not face SE but it is OK to face NW and put your back to the SE. KEEP THIS AREA QUIET AND UNDISTURBED WITH CONSTRUCTION OR LOUD NOISES. October wields a mighty sword with the Metal 7 Star, known at the Broken Soldier. When you pit the SE with the 2/5Star combination with the NW 4/7 Stars you have a full on battle. The NW asks that you VACATE and AVOID using this room in October and if you must, do so quietly. DO NOT store weapons or sharp objects in this room. Best Colors: Blue colors, no Water and some Metal AVOID: Fire, hot colors like red, fuchsia, orange, violet, green, heavy Wood furnishings, Earth and colors of Yellow, Brown, Tan, Peach, or Rust. CURE: If a front door hang a Ba-Gua mirror to deflect the negative chi and flank the entrance with a pair of Metal Fu Dogs. If a bedroom put a Salt Water Cure under the bed and a Wu Lou Health gourd by the bedside. To protect relationships, put a Chinese Coin with the 4 characters facing up with a Rose Quartz crystal on top. 4 stalks of Lucky Bamboo in a Blue vase is another cure option. No family photos. EXTREME CAUTION in October for safety.
Neutral – The 3 Star in the Center is visited by the 6 Star in October. The 3 Wood Star is weakened by this placement in the Earthy Center and this month the 6 Star is small Metal and if there is an open line from the SE to the NW through the Center in your home, this could be seen as a place where the fighting, violence, loss, or destruction is emboldened. If not, great, keep these troubled areas of your home closed off from each other. All the reasons open concept home design does not work for your favor. The 6 Star is nourished here and brings some success and good fortune but the 3 Star, even weakened as it is, brings a challenge of arguments, defamation, and gossip that can be a threat. So, the Center needs to be kept in a neutral holding pattern for October. Best Colors/ Decor: BLUE will continue to aid in mitigating all the contentious elements at play here. Blue fabric, pillows, but not flowing active water. Avoid: Colors of Green and Fiery Red, Fuchsia, Orange, Violet. Earth tones of brown, yellow, peach, ochre, sand, and tan. CURES: Annual cure of a Happy Hotei sitting on 7 Chinese Red envelopes. That cure protects your relationships and wealth. Add a smoky quartz to absorb negative chi. A little Metal can help as well, like a round Metal bowl.
DEPRESS – The 8 Star is in the North for 2024 and in October the 2 Earth Star arrives. The 8 Star is challenged in the Watery North this year and as we have ignored the innate expression of this direction to nourish the 8 Star with Earth but this 2 Star adds another beleaguered Earth Star and neither can fully express themselves. Best Colors/ Decor: The mitigator is Metal and the colors of Black, White, and Gray. Avoid: Fire colors of Red, Fuchsia, Violet, and Rose, Earth tones like yellow, peach, rust, burgundy, brown, and tan, Green, Water and colors of Blue. CURES: 8 Silk RED Flowers in a RED Vase and 8 Chinese coins on red string are the cures for 2024. October it is best to watch this area to ensure those cures aren’t causing issues. Metal like a round bowl can help absorb any negativity.
ACTIVATE– The 6 Star is in the North East for 2024 and in Period 9, the 6 Star continues to be a Star of wealth and success. The 9 Star in October offers THE BEST direction for the month! Thank you for this and seriously, migrate to this part of your home and camp out here for the next 4 weeks! This combination speaks of great wealth and success. Best Colors/ Decor: Metal furnishings, Black, white, gray with Earthy brown, yellow, cream, ochre, and tan, . Avoid: Blue, Water, Wood, all colors of Green, Fire, Red, Fuchsia, Violet, Tangerine, Rose, Red. CURES: Place 6 Gold ingots in a round yellow or gold/metal plate in a prominent place. If this is an entrance, hang a string of 6 Chinese coins on Black string from the door knob. Black crystals like obsidian can be used. For October place an amethyst or something radiantly purple.
Neutralize – The 1 Star is in the East and is our new Future Wealth Star in Period 9. This is where we imagine all that we want to manifest in 2024. The 4 Star comes in and brings a caution to relationships with infidelity or addiction issues or other problems arising. The 4 Star is at home here in the East so it is best to weaken it with Water which will enhance the 1 Star. Best Colors: Blue, focus primarily on Blue with healthy plants. Avoid: Earth tones like yellow, brown, tan, peach, pale pink, and also Fire like red, violet, hot pink, orange, Woody green too. CURE: REMOVE ALL Personal Photos and your Vision Board because you want nothing personal to you in this sector of your home or office. If this is a bedroom use a salt water cure and Wu Lou health gourd for protection. Be mindful of what is going on with relationships this month if this is a room occupied by more than you on the daily.
DEPRESS– The 7 Star is in the South is one of the WORST directions for 2024. If this is a bedroom or main entrance try to use another room for sleeping and entering your home. There is a real risk to safety and finances as well as your reputation. The 1 Star brings salvation in October which is weird to say about a Water Star flying into the Fire of the South. The Watery 1 Star weakens the 7 Star and calms the aggressiveness and confrontational energy of this part of the Ba-Gua. The South is where we have one of the 3 Afflictions, the Three Killings as well in 2024. CHECK DOORS AND SECURITY – DO NOT store guns, knives, or any other weapons, or tools like a chainsaw in the South. Best Colors: Focus on Blue in rugs, art, bed linens, etc. Avoid: Black, white, gray, Metal, Earth tones like Brown, Tan, and Cream, Fire as in Red, Violet, Hot Pink, and Orange, active Water, Green, and Wood. CURE: Fill a black dish with rice and set a Chinese Coin with a bloodstone crystal on top to protect finances. If this is a Kitchen, cover the burners with cookie sheets when not in use. Three Killings Cure is a Brass Dragon Headed Turtle (never have this facing you) with a plant growing in clean, clear water.
Neutral– The 9 Star is in the South West is our NEW wealth Star ruled by Fire and October brings a slight caution for arguments, hearsay, and irritability. Watch your personal interactions and be the one that promotes peace and harmony. The 3 Star is already weak in Period 9 and in the Earthy SW is limping along even more. The color Red and Fire will be the final blow to bring this nasty funk to its knees and hopefully gain some goodness from the 9 Star as a result. Best Colors: Use colors of Fire again like Cherry, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Rose, Purple, violet, lavender, with Earth tones like cream, Tan, Yellow, and Brown. Worst Colors: Metal, Gray, Black, White, BLUE, Water, Wood, and Green colors. CURE: Display prominently 9 purple silk flowers in a purple or green vase.
DEPRESS – The 5 Star is in the West is one of the worst directions for 2024. In October the 8 Star arrives and is weakened in this position. CAUTION. KEEP THIS AREA QUIET WITH NO CONSTRUCTION OR LOUD BANGING NOISES. Also keep this room dark and used minimally. Even as the 8 Star can be auspicious, when combined with the 5 Star it is a futile situation. Best Colors: Metal and the colors of White, Gray, and Black. Keep the design very Zen. Avoid: EARTH tones like Yellow, Brown, Tan, Peach, Rust, Wood, colors of Green, Blue, Water, Fire and Fire colors of Red, Hot Pink, Orange and Violet. CURE: If this is a main entrance, place a pair of Gold Fu Dogs flanking the front steps/ entranceway. If this is Kitchen, cover the burners with cookie sheets when not in use. If this is a bedroom, put a Salt Water Cure under the bed and put a Brass Wu Lou Health Gourd on your bedside table. VACATE THIS AS A BEDROOM AND AVOID AS AN ENTRANCE if at all possible. Best cure is a 6 rod Metal windchime outside or a chiming clock inside.
