The monthly Bazi according to the lunar calendar start between the 3rd and 8th of each month. Unique to 2025 this year will deliver an incredible amount of conflict and disruption because the Stem in most months is in a challenging position to the monthly Animal. Here is the breakdown:
February 3rd begins the Year of the Snake in the month of Yang Earth Tiger and Tiger is Yang Wood. The Tiger controls Earth, and forms a semi-Fire Penalty with the Snake, Harming Wood. Wood is beleaguered in this position, weakened by the Penalty, the Harm and the Yang Earth. This shows not only an unfavorable start to 2025 but a lot of disruption, instability, shaking of Earth which is unstable. Typically, a tree (Yang Wood) stands on the Earth, but in this instance, their positions are reversed. This feels like the Hanged Man card in Tarot. The message then is to take a step back and get a new perspective on what’s happening before taking action.
March 5th is a Yin Earth Rabbit. This is a Yin version of the previous month. Here we have Earth covering the new flowers of spring, it is growth that is stunted, it is the burying of that which wants to be born. As the Rabbit is our negotiator, it will take a lot of nuance to un-Earth the potential for us to feel any measure of spring in our proverbial gardens.
April 4th is a Yang Metal Dragon. The Dragon is Yang Earth with a little Water and Wood. It is the fertile, moist Earth of spring. The heavy nature of Metal feels ominous and threatening to what the Dragon has the potential to reveal as far as growth. This feels heavy handed.
May 5th is a Yin Metal Snake. Here we experience the collective mirroring or amplification of the 2025 forecast and how it will impact each of us in our individual astrology. The Yin Metal is present within the Snake so this is some little jewel being revealed, some nugget of gold is being brought to the surface for smelting. This can be a moment of truth or a moment of destruction. For Metal with Fire can suggest small explosions like gunfire. It could signal violence, war, and mass shootings worldwide. Be very careful with your own safety this month. Stay out of the line of fire…
June 5th is a Yang Water Horse. This is a super hot muggy time of year for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. The Horse contains some Yin Earth within its Yin Fire so there is a measure of controlling the Water but this is a tsunami, a typhoon, a waterfall of water falling out of the sky. So, a little Earth may be futile in this sauna situation. The Horse forms a semi-Fire Seasonal Trio with the Snake and if you have a Sheep in your Bazi chart, then a Full Fire Trio. This truly is a Fire storm of a month.
July 6th Yin Water Sheep. This is a dry hot Earth that the Sheep brings with a little Metal and a little Fire and the Yin Water feels far more gentle than last month. This almost feels refreshing like a misty rain, or the salty spray of the ocean as you sit on the beach. There is something pacifying here that I pray brings our world a pause for peace.
August 7th Yang Wood Monkey. Here we have a forest sitting on top of Yang Metal with a little Water and Earth. It’s like the chopping block, deforestation, getting caught in the wood chipper of life. The Monkey forms a semi Fire Punishment or Penalty with the Snake. This is a Full Penalty if you have a Tiger in your Bazi chart. This is a tough situation and very destructive.
September 7th Yin Wood Rooster. The Yin compliment to last month is a softer conflict but still felt. This is someone cutting the flowers in the garden, this is the snipping of growth, like weeding, like weeding out that which is not wanted. It is swift, clean, and decisive. There is a semi Metal Trio with the Rooster and the Snake just to aggravate the situation further.
October 8th Yang Fire Dog. This month actually doesn’t seem so bad simply because the elements are in harmony. The Dog brings justice, and the Yang Fire offers the Yang Earth of the Dog along with it’s small measure of Metal and Fire to take action. This could be uprisings, protests, acts of compassion for humanity. This is our battle cry as we stand up for those who can’t defend themselves.
November 7th Yin Fire Pig. We are back to the conflict as this spark of Fire sits atop Yang Water like a candle votive floating in a fountain. The Pig contains Wood as well which does bring some harmonizing. The potential is there for a steamy interchange and the Pig is the enemy of the Snake made more apparent by the very presence of the Yin Fire Stem. This is a very unstable situation in which hidden enemies become seen, in which hidden bombs explode.
December 6th Yang Earth Rat. The Rat is Yin Water and the presence of Yang Earth is like a mountain sitting atop a small stream of water, like inside the mountain caves. The Water is lost here, the Rat loses herself to the heavy weight and oppressive nature of Yang Earth, it makes the Water freeze (it is winter after all).
January 5th Yin Earth Ox. If you have a Rooster in your Bazi chart you will experience a Full Metal Trio this month which may or may not impact your life depending. This is cold Earth and it is doubled in this scenario. It feels like slow plodding ahead. Chop wood, carry water, and all of those daily chores of life. Effort needs to be made. This is our transition month as we prepare for a Yang Fire Horse Year.
