We began the year with a semi-Fire Penalty with the Tiger of February and the Annual Snake. This would be an even more personal affliction if you have a Tiger, Snake, and/or Monkey in your own chart. Check out the Blog about the Fire Penalty of 2025 which is one of the biggest themes of the year – Watch the Video on YouTube
JOURNAL PROMPT: How do I talk to myself? How do I nurture my mental health?
April arrives on the 5th – The 3 Pillars are: Yin Water Rabbit / Yang Metal Dragon// Yin Wood Snake
The Flying Stars for April reveals many opportunities for success and wealth but also a caution to mental health and relationship troubles. The Bazi Astrology for April starts on a spring day – Yin Water is like dew and the Rabbit is Yin Wood like flowers, grass, and leaves returning to the trees. The vibe of the month can be seen as destructive OR constructive depending on HOW you use it or how it uses YOU. Yang Metal is like a big machine, a plow or tractor, and Dragon is fertile Earth. The month of April is therefore either sowing the seeds of potential future growth and abundance OR a heavy, oppressive force ripping up what you have already started to enact and create. Now the Dragon and the Snake are an interesting pairing as they work well together. The Snake works in the background, sensing, intuiting, and discerning what’s the right direction to go, what is needed, etc. The Dragon is the leader that takes action, innovates, imagines in big rainbow brushstrokes. Together they can create some amazing things. Use this to your advantage in April in all you are creating.
If the mood of the month feels anxious, combative, or you find yourself struggling with your mental health, here are some ways to self-soothe:
- Get out into nature every day. Turn your face to the sun – place hands over your heart and breathe in – open arms wide and exhale. Repeat over and over these big expansive breaths with the movements. End with wrapping your arms around yourself in a big self-love hug.
- Take baths with essential oils that boost the mood like orange or lemon oil for depression, rose oil as a heart tonic and to invoke joy, or rosemary oil (not if pregnant) for soothing the nervous system
- Journal what’s sitting on your heart
- Reach out to a friend who is not going to berate you, try to fix you, or be anything other than supportive, fun, and a tonic to your aching heart.
- Do activities that light up your heart
- Go on an inspiring retreat like the one’s Lydia Nitya Griffith offers at Open Sky
- Keep life simple, act with mindfulness, adopt a more quiet demeanor – you do not have to respond to every post, every text, email, or phone call.
